I love our party.I joined aged 16 in Wolverhampton. I've been an association chairman, won a
served each of the last five Conservative Prime Ministers.I am incredibly proud of what we achieved over the past 14 years. We our
finances, reformed our schools, delivered Brexit, defeated Corbyn and stood bytheir darkest hour.
But we have just suffered our worst ever defeat. I believe our party now stands at acrossroads. We can continue as before, or we can listen to the public, change - and defeat
Labour at the next election.
In this election, I stand for change.
I will place the party back in the service of members by returning candidate selections to
local associations, growing our movement by attracting younger voters and rebuilding ourcampaigning machine.
I will unite our party around the answers to the huge challenges facing this country. We will
always be a broad church, but united by
time-honoured conservative principles.
We have a mountain to climb. But throughout my time in politics, I have always taken onbig challenges. As Housing Secretary, I delivered the highest numbers of housing starts since
Margaret Thatcher. As Immigration Minister, I personally secured the biggest ever reduction
in legal migration and cut small boat arrivals by a third for the first time ever. But I know itwasn't enough. That's why I took a stand.
As your leader I will fight relentlessly against Starmer's hypocrisy and broken promises.
Labour's dour vision for this country is a slow march to decline. But I am sure that, with theright leader, our best days are yet to come.
I am the candidate who can make Reform redundant by bringing home thosesmall 'c' conservatives. The polls show I am the best candidate to win back Reform voters to our right and Lib Dem
voters to our left.
With your support, I will fight to make this a one term Labour Government so we can returnto power and create prosperity for our country's hard-working majority.
Thank you once again for everything you do for our party.
