Set up the device to allow installation of applications from outside the Appstore:

  1. Open the Settings menu by swiping down from the top of your Kindle Fire screen and tapping the gear wheel icon in the notification menu - or simply Select the Settings icon from the device’s app drawer.
  2. From the Settings page, select “Security”
  3. Make sure the 'Apps from Unknown Sources' option is set to On - this will allow Scribd’s app to be installable.

Installation

If not prompted to install directly after downloading the application, please do the following:

  1. Open the web browser on your Kindle Fire.
  2. Open your the browser's settings menu (tap the three dot overflow icon) and select 'Downloads'
  3. Select the 'Scribd.apk' and tap the 'Install' button at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Once the Scribd app is installed, you will be able to find it on your home screen along with your other apps.
  5. Open Scribd and either create or sign into your existing account.
