The Yugoslav Third Way

Yugoslavia's status was unique both economically and politically. Separate from both blocks, it was 'communist' but received aid from the United States. It had a semi-market economy and aimed to present a viable third economic model to capitalism and communism, with for example growth averaging 6% between 1960 and 1980. This paper would investigate the model. To what extent was it a success story? Was it primarily maintained by Tito's dictatorship, given the divisions within the country?
