Description

A Peak At Success
Author Anders Ericsson [Twitter: @PeakTheBook] is all about researching why some people perform FAR better than others. His studies range from prolific musicians to extreme athletes and is cited in his popular book, Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise. The common thread with these outliers is training. The kind of training, duration, competition, etc, is discussed by Ericsson with The Crew. Encouraging takeaway: You can train yourself to be exceedingly good at almost anything.

Here at Power Athlete we like to throw around the term peaking, namely when we're describing Luke's pinnacle of athletic performance in high school. But the fact of the matter is that we are all, in some capacity, striving towards success. This week Anders Ericsson, author the book Peak: Secrets from the New Science of Expertise explains how quickly we dismiss our own abilities in the absence of any real training. As he explains, experts, virtuosos, and the elite are not that different than you and I. They just put in the proper work and sought out the best available training.

Be forewarned, there are a few audio issues here and there from the long connection to Anders but I promise it will not detract from the conversation.

EMPOWER YOUR PERFORMANCE.
You can find Peak anywhere books are sold or follow Anders' work on Twitter @peakthebook.
