Emotional Intelligence
In 1983, Gardner first published a theory , derived from extensive brain research, on Multiple

Intelligence including intrapersonal (self awareness)
and interpersonal (relationship management)

Goleman (1998-2003) has popularized the concept
of emotional intelligence and formulated EI in

terms of a theory of job and work performance

Emotional Intelligence
New research in the 90s confirmed that there is an emotional brain: a place called the limbic system where our emotions Originate. It is separated from the rational brain (the neocortex) but the two are connected and develop together. This means that our power to reason and our feelings are intended to be used together. Because of the brain’s design, all information goes into our emotional center first and then to our thinking center. Emotions come before thought and behavior. What scientists discovered is that we need our emotions; our feelings fire up the motor in us that drives energy and creativity. If we block or ignore emotions in the workplace, we stifle motivation.

Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, use, understand, and manage your emotions in positive and constructive ways. It's about recognizing your own emotional state and the emotional states of others. It is being able to restrain negative actions When When When When Provoked. faced with opposition. working under pressure. under stress at work and at home.

Being able to work with challenging people is a necessity for the workplace and organization involvement

Emotional Intelligence
When your emotional intelligence is fully developed, it is easier to work well under constantly changing circumstances and to act on your ideas in ways that benefit the organization. Negative emotions must be controlled Anger. Depression. Jealousy can divert attention from the task at hand.

An upset person finds it difficult to empathise with others. On the other hand, positive emotions increase optimism, helpfulness and creativity.

Emotionally intelligent leaders create resonance.

Emotional Intelligence
“Anyone become angry- that is easy BUT To be angry with the right person, at the right time, for the right purpose and in the right way- this is not easy”

“It is not the strongest of the species who survive, nor the most intelligent, but those who are most adaptive to change”

Emotional Intelligence
At home Emotional Intelligence is the ability of two or more people to live together.

EI calls for the use to harmonized the head and the heart.

Remember:EI is not about being emotional, its about being smart with your emotions
