What is VETSNET?
• VETSNET will replace the legacy Compensation and Pension system
(BDN) and includes the following major applications:

1. Share/Search and Participant Profile (SPP) – supports claims


establishment, records and updates basic information about veterans
and their dependents in the corporate and legacy databases.
2. Modern Award Processing – Development (MAP-D) – supports
development of claims, and workflow tracking.
3. Rating Board Automation 2000 (RBA2000) -- supports the rating and
evaluation of disability claims.
4. Awards -- used to prepare the award and calculate benefit awards.
5. Finance & Accounting System (FAS) – supports generation and audit
of benefit payments.

• 99% of all 010/110 EPs processed used VETSNET Awards in September


– 75% cumulative for the FY
– 5% cumulative for FY 2006
• 42% of all Rating EPs processed used VETSNET Awards in September
– 37% cumulative for the FY
– 2% cumulative for FY 2006
• 209,318 veterans are “on the rolls” (receiving their monthly comp check via VETSNET)
– This total includes
• 16,095 veterans converted at Lincoln during May
• 6,911 veterans converted at Lincoln in FY 2005
• 44,071 veterans converted at Nashville during July
• 20,265 veterans converted at Albuquerque during July
– Total Converted: 87,342 (6,011 in FY 2005; 80,341 in FY 2007)
– Net gain to the VETSNET rolls through award action: 121,976
– 10,385 on the rolls at end of FY 2006
• 54 Regional Offices processed over 90% of 010/110 EPs via VETSNET during September
• $926.9 million in compensation and pension benefits paid through VETSNET in FY 2007
– Includes approximately 135 pension cases being paid through VETSNET rather than returning to
BDN

VETSNET Release 1 (VR1)

“Complete Compensation”; finalizes our ability to process compensation


claims and includes significant Finance and Accounting System (FAS)
functionality and third-party / non-veteran payee claims (apportionment,
fiduciary, attorneys)
