# Double-Sideband Suppressed

Carrier AM
• The other characteristic of the amplitude
modulated signal that it does not contain a
carrier component is called a double-sideband,
uppressed carrier (DSB-SC).
•It's obtained by multiplying the message signal
with the carrier signal.

Single-Sideband Amplitude Modulation
Single sideband AM (SSB-AM) is a variation
on standard AM designed to cut the
bandwidth of the modulated signal in half.
The DSB-SC AM signal required a channel
bandwidth of BW =2fm Hz for transmission,
where is the bandwidth of the base band
signal.
Single-Sideband Amplitude Modulation
the two sidebands are redundant. so we
demonstrate that the transmission of either
sideband is sufficient to reconstruct the
message signal at the receiver. Thus, we
reduce the bandwidth of the transmitted to
that of the base band signal.
