A Interface
Interface between MSC and BSS: the A interface The BSS-MSC interface is supported by a standard protocol for transmitting the following information: A interface BSS management messages; Call processing; Mobility management messages. Protocols Used: DTAP and BSMAP

B Interface
Interface between MSC and related VLR: the B interface The VLR is a database for storing the location and management data of subscribers who roam to the related MSC area.

When the MSC needs the data of a subscriber in this MSC area, the MSC will query the data from the VLR. When an MS updates its location, the MSC requests the VLR to store the related information.

C Interface
Interface between HLR and MSC: the C interface
The HLR-MSC interface is applicable when the GMSC requests and queries the routes of calls or short messages from the HLR. This interface is supported by GSM MAP/C protocol.

D Interface
Interface between HLR and VLR: the D interface

The D interface is used to exchange the subscriber location information and processing information. The main service of an MS is the capability of initiating and accepting a call within its service area. To support this capability, the location register must exchange data. The VLR informs the HLR of the subscriber location information and provides the roaming number when a call is made. The HLR sends the subscriber service data needed by the VLR. E Interface
Interface between MSC: the E interface When an MS roams from one MSC to another, the MSC will implement a handoff to continue the communication. In this case, the data needs to be exchanged between the MSC. When short messages are transmitted from the MS to the SC, this interface is used to transfer messages between the subscriber MSC and short message gateway MSC. The interface is a standard ISUP protocol.

F Interface
Interface between MSC and EIR: the F interface

It is used for data exchange between the MSC and EIR, in order to authenticate the MS IMEI status. This interface is a standard MAP/ F protocol.
