Chill, as his friends called him, was a famous cartoonist. He took up permanent residence in 1920 on Elm Street and stayed there until 1947. He attended public school in Westfield and was fond of visiting the Presbyterian Cemetery on Mountain Ave. When he was a youngster he was caught by the police for breaking into a house on Dudley Avenue. On the second floor of the garage behind the main house there is a chalk drawing of a skeleton which is believed to have been drawn by him. X is a personal documentary by acclaimed ItalianAmerican director Martin Scorsese. The film is a voyage through Italian cinema history, marking influential films for Scorsese and particularly covering the Italian neo realism period.  The films of Y make up for half the films discussed in the entire documentary, dealing with his seminal influence on Italian cinema and cinema history. 3. Few people know that X was actually involved in medical research. He wanted to save his sister-in law and approached Carrel with the idea of working on the heart. In the end they started work on culturing organs and made a perfusion system.  Very few actually know that most of today’s cardiovascular surgery techniques have been made possible due to X’s efforts who tried to apply mechanical solutions to technical problems.  X along with Carrel have been featured on the TIME cover, and Carrel went on to win the Nobel prize for his work on the transplantation of organs

X is the official system of belief or doctrine held by a religion, or a particular group or organization. The term derives from Greek for “ that which seems to one, opinion or belief”. She was 3 years old when she was taken from the streets of Moscow. She was placed in her “new home” days in advance, and was covered in an alcohol solution and painted with iodine in several spots so that sensors could be attached to her to monitor her heartbeat, blood pressure and other bodily functions. Females were chosen because they did not have to stand to urinate. Some say that she was poisoned after 4 days, others believe that she could not withstand the high temperatures.

It was the year 1931 and Franky was one among 6 British mountaineers who lost his way while descending Mt.Kamet. He was known for his irascibility and decided to try another face of Kamet while descending and as luck would have it, he stumbled upon X, which was earlier known as bhyundar by the locals. Born in New York, he trained as a geologist before finally taking up the chair as Alexander Agassiz professor of Zoology at Harvard in 1982. He was also diagnosed with mesothelioma, rumoured to have been precipitated by the asbestos lining of the specimen cabinets at Harvard. However, he continued to live for 20 years more and is best known to the public through this unbroken sequence of 300 monthly essays in the Natural History Magazine. 9. Also known as the forgotten Holocaust during World War II, the death toll here (Dec 1937) is more than the combined death toll of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Iris chang, an American historian and journalist is said to have documented the entire atrocities which was committed against Chinese by forces of the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War and includes interviews with victims. It was mistakenly claimed to be the first Englishlanguage nonfiction account of the atrocity.

10. My review of “____: One Hell of a Life”. I think it’s a very engaging read right from the start. First part is more exciting ( since it talks about her swimming career). It is a very honest appraisal and a lot of raw emotion expressed. She candidly describes the pain of losing a brother due to leukaemia and her mum in a car accident when she was the driver. Her battle with alcoholism, her antics with the Japanese police and her cruel suspension have been documented very well. All in all a brilliant read.

11. It was born in 1984, which makes it 28, usually a dangerous age in the perennially young fashion world. 12. Raymond Sabourand first isolated this type of fungi, although the credit for identification goes to a french scientist by the name of Charles Malassez, who then called it Malassezia. FUNCTIONS : It metabolizes triglycerides present in sebum by the expression of lipase, resulting in a lipid byproduct oleic acid. Selenium disulfide or Ketoconazole are effective against this. One could also use low concentration hydrogen peroxide also.

13. At the instigation of a Stanford psychology grad student Vik Lovell, X volunteered to take part in a CIA financed study, where he worked as a night aide.
