The Renewed Mind
• Rom 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” • The renewed mind is an essential element to walking/living the Christian life. • With a renewed mind you are able to prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God.

What is the mind?
• From Strong’s Greek Dictionary: ‘mind’= intellect (divine or human) “in thought, feeling or will” • “The mind does not exist in a tangible form. Instead, mind is a word that we use to refer to human thinking, knowing & feeling.” Dr. Gary
Collins

• Before regeneration-2 Cor 4:4 “the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God.”

Why is the mind important?
• After being born-again, your spirit is new (a new creation in Christ) but your soul still needs to work out its salvation. • This is why renewing your mind is so important! • Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”

• the mind is the battlefield for several reasons one being as ‘he thinks so he becomes.’ • Our actions are a direct result of our thoughts • Where ever your mind goes your feelings and actions will follow!

• Romans 8: 5-8 “Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6-The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life & peace; 7-the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so..” • Strongs Gr.- mind : “To exercise the mind, ie to entertain or have a sentiment or opinion; set the affection on”

The mind is the battlefield
• “The mind of man is the battle-ground on which every moral & spiritual battle is fought” J. Oswald Sanders Book “Spiritual Clinic’ • 2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 KJV “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4-(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;) 5-Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

• We can and must take every thought captive into the obedience of Christ • The weapons we have been given are: • The Name of Jesus • The Word of God • The Blood of the Lamb
