This project focus on energy auditing in SEC campus and energy saving based on certain replacement techniques . In present status the energy consumptions is increasing day by day and the generating stations failing to produce the required amount of power which makes people more concerned about energy efficiency and conservation. An energy audit is considered as one of the comprehensive methods which makes a study of a plant to determine how and where energy is used and to identify methods for energy savings .The use of electricity is a blessing when applied judiciously and a curse when expended recklessly. The need of energy auditing is a must at this scenario. .

Rs. . and it was aimed at obtaining a detailed idea about the various enduse energy consumption activities and identifying.36 lakhs during 2012.OBJECTIVE This energy audit assumes significance due to the fact that the SEC electricity bill had crossed app. The audit was also aimed at giving the students a feel of the practical problems and difficulties in carrying out energy audits. enumerating and evaluating the possible energy savings opportunities. The target is to achieve savings in the electrical energy consumption to the extent of 20%.

” – Carl E. “An energy audit is developing an understanding of the specific energy-using patterns of a particular facility. An energy audit is a study of a plant or facility to determine how and where energy is used and to identify methods for energy savings without affecting human comfort. Salas .

3.INSTRUMENTS USED IN ENERGY AUDITING 1.KW . Amps and volts. 2. The meter directly gives the flow. • This instruments are applied online that is on running motor without any need to stop the motor .F Hz . • Consist of a photo cell which senses the light output . converts to electrical impulses which are calibrated as lux. LUX METERS•To measure Illumination levels. • There is a transmitter and receiver which are positioned on opposite sides of the pipe . WATER FLOW METER• This is a non contact flow measuring device uses doppler effect or ultra sonic principle.KVAR . ELECTRICAL MEASURING INSTRUMENTS• Used for measuring major electrical parameters such as KVA .P. • In addition some of these instruments are also employed in measuring harmonics.

..As per our analysis more wastage of power is found in the present light loads and water pumping in our campus Now we are in the second phase of the auditing making a detailed study about the wastage and preparing for the replacement for better efficiency and conservation.
