Why Did Mussoilini Invade?

The answers simple, he was a dictator and the public didnt like
him, other European contries had parts of Africa and he
thought that if he had Abyssinnia then the public wouldn't be
concerned anymore with their own problems but with the attack
of Abyssinnia. He could also hang out at the cool European
Countries Treehouse and bully smaller countries for fun.
What Happened?
In the 19th century there was
this thing called the Scramble
for Africa in which all the
major European countries
wanted to own Africa, they
owned all the good
resourceful countries but
deserts like Abbysia were left
out. Benito Mussolini invaded
this countrie and the leader
Hailie Selassie went to the
League for Help, they did
nothing and Britain and
France made the Hoare-
Levalle pact which meant that
they should do nothing, the
manchurian Crisis along with
the Manchurian Crisis show
the failures of the league of
Nations and the causes of the
second world war.

What The Crisis Did To The League's
Reputation
The League's reputation was already in tatters after The
Manchurian Crisis of 1931. The Abyssinian Crisis all but ended
The League and their reputation.

The League were called upon by Hailie Selassie to send an

army to protect Abyssinia from Mussolini. Britain and France
were supposed to send an army but they ended up doing
absolutely nothing.

This put The League in a bad position and this was a big
reason that the League ended.

Abbyssinnia, as you can see

in my wonderful map is next
to Sudan and Ethiopia and its
Capital is Abbis Ababa. The
Italians attacked form the
north and south and drove the
people south. This was one of
the few remaining
African countries that had not
been overtaken by Europe.
The Operation would have been very hot and rations were scarce in the
desert, many Italian troops died, however the Abb Army would have
been used to this and so had the upper hand, but they were no match
for Benito's troops.
What Did Britain And France Do???

As the Leagues two most prominent nations, France and

Britain were expected to sort the problem out in a quick and
non-violent way...this did not happen. Abyssinia at least
expected an army to be sent to drive Mussolini and his army
out of Abyssinia...this didn't exactly happen either. Instead this
crisis was all but ignored by the League and nothing. This led
to the second Italo-Abyssianian War.

beaten, shot, and
hung up with
piano wire, before
he died an hour
later in Rome
