The mind is the Battlefield Strongholds Part 3

Annett Melton

• Isaiah 61: “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;”

• I Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

The mind is the Battlefield Strongholds Part 3

• 2 Corinthians 10:3 -5 AMP “For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. 4) For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

• 5) [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ

• Stronghold-Ochuroma: “A castle, stronghold, fortress fastness anything on which one relies of the arguments and reasoning’s by which a disputant endeavors to fortify his opinion and defend it against his opponent.” Thayer’s Greek English Lexicon of New Testament

• In layman’s terms: The strongholds are the thoughts, arguments, theories and reasoning’s we use to uphold the actions, habits and behaviors that we do • So the real strongholds are the beliefs, thoughts and opinions that validate our actions, habits or behaviors

“A stronghold is an area we are held in bondage (in prison) due to a certain way of thinking.” Joyce Meyer • What beliefs, thoughts or opinions do you have that stops you from moving forward in your walk with God? • Does fear, worry or anxiety keep you up at night? Does it hold you back from doing what you know God wants you to do?

• 2 Timothy 1:7 AMP “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.”

• Fear comes when we are insecure of our outcomes • God hasn’t given you a spirit of fear! • The bible states perfect love casts out fear!

• You can be free from negative thinking, confusion, racing thoughts, worry, fear, anxiety because these thoughts are not from God. • God is the author of peace. • Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
