Stunts, Blitzes and Dogs!

Line Stunt Terminology


Positions are based on a Strike (Strength) Call. Strong Side DT is Tackle or T in Line Stunts Weak Side DT is the Nose or N. Strong DE is the S. Weak Side DE is the E.

Line Stunts
First person to execute the stunt is the Penetrator. He must rip down the line across the face of the next offensive lineman. To be responsible for the gap of the other defensive lineman. The second person involved in the stunt is the Looper. The looper must rip around off of the butt of the Penetator. He must minmize separation between the two.

The Letter that comes first in the stunt call says which position goes first. ToN (Tackle goes before the Nose) NoT (Nose before the Tackle) Gap

Strong DE and Tackle slant to the next gap towards the Nose. Then the Nose loops around them.

The Tackle and nose slant to the next gap towards the Weak DE. Then the Weak DE loops around them.
