Malaysia, located in the heart of South-East Asia, is one of the fastest developing countries in the world and ranks as the second wealthiest country in the region, second only to Singapore.

System of Government
Based on the Constitution of the Federation of Malaya promulgated on August 31, 1957. Revised in 1963 with the formation of Malaysia. As administrative and policy making decisions. Practices parliamentary democracy a Constitutional Monarchy. Yang di Pertuan Agong (King) as the head of the country.

Authority of Power
The Federal Constitution of Malaysia divides the Power into Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary authority.

Executive - refers to the power to govern the country headed by the Prime as the Chief Executive and the head of the Government. The Prime Minister, Cabinet and the government administrative machinery are given the task of carrying out executive functions.

Legislative - is in the hands of the Parliament, which comprises the Senate and House of Representatives . Its functions as a law maker and has the authority to raise taxes and authorize expenditure.

The Senate comprises 69 members, and 40 are appointed by the King , from among citizens believed to possess excellent records in public services, businesses, trade and commerce, have contributed much to the benefit of the public or are representatives of ethnic or minority groups.
The House of Representatives consists of 222 elected members (2008 GE) who must be 21 years old and above.

Judiciary - the judiciary is given the authority to hear and determine criminal matters, interpret the legality of any legislative and executive acts. The Head of the Judiciary is the Lord President of the Federal Court, which is the highest court in Malaysia.

Its success is attributed to political stability, visionary leadership, pragmatic socioeconomic planning and efficient public service. It has adopted a vision of becoming a developed country by the year 2020.
