A cutaway view of the M-11 pH sensor reveals the Teflon reference junction
U.S. Patent No. 4,128,468
Innovative Sensors, Inc. Patented Plunger eliminates air bubbles and measuring problems. The black, rubber plunger holds the internal fill solution in place, no matter how the sensor is mounted. This allows for the customer to mount the sensor upside down or right side up while maintaining a steady pH signal. Also, this design has an added temp. shock and service benefit; the sensor has been tested to 150C +. Also, the plunger compresses as the fill solution expands.
* U.S. Patent No. 4,333,812
TC is placed inside of pH bulb Fast Temperature Response T95% is less than 2 minutes
Above: A single junction sensor; typically used in labs Below: A double junction sensor; typically used in harsh processes. All Innovative Sensors pH sensors can be built with the double junction design. Note that the front chamber has KNO3 which acts to screen the poisoning ions from the back chamber of KCl.

Solution ground rods can also be built into the plastic body sensors
Preamps are found as separate units or built into combination sensor At 25oC the pH electrode produces 59.16 mV per pH unit Ohms Law
Voltage (E) / Resistance (R) = Current (I) E/ R = I 0.05916 / 100,000,000 = 0.000000001 Amps
A preamp is required for signal stability if the signal is sent to a unit which does not accept high impedance signals
Shown above: a cutaway view of a M-11 pH sensor with a preamp laying by its side. This preamp is embedded inside the sensor. Preamps are also available separately.
Sensors are chemically resistant due to Ryton (PPS) Body with Teflon reference junction
