RRUW (Remote Radio Unit)

SOLAR SHIELD -The solar shield

protects the RRUW from solar radiation and helps in cooling the RRUW.

PSU/(optional) -The PSU is

required for the AC power input option. It converts RRUW input main power 100 - 250 V AC to -48 V DC.

ACCU (optional)-The

ACCU is required when the PSU is used and the RRUW is installed outdoors. The ACCU houses the SPD(SURGE PROTECT DEVICE). Installation cover. Padlock cover is used to lock the solar shield .

PDU
The PDU is used for the following: Distributing -48 V DC power to Radio Units (RU) and Control Base Units (CBU), Distributing power to the Fan Control Unit (FCU) .

FCU

The FCU: (Fan Control Unit) Handles up to four fans The FCU has three indicators that display FCU and fan status Communicates with the RBS through the EC bus, receiving speed setting requirements and sending fan status Triggers an alarm when fan speed is too low Supplies power to the XALM (external alarm unit)

Main Unit
OBIF 2 or OBIF 4 board. Exchange Terminal (ET) board in CBU. Transmit (TX) board. Random Access and Receiver (RAX) board. Control Base Unit (CBU)

OBIF (Optical Baseband Interface)

The OBIF boards are device boards primarily used for communication between the Main Unit (MU) and Remote Radio Units (RRU).

User Data (UD) and OIL data distribution.

Distributes Baseband (BB) clock and Node B Frame Number (BFN) to one or more RRUs

CBU

Power

The CBU is the central control unit of the RBS. It executes the main part of the control functions in the RBS and controls the boards via the board processors.

IMA functionality

TX
The unit has the following functions:
Soft and softer handover. The TX board is used for downlink baseband processing such as transport channel handling, encoding, modulation, spreading and channel combining. Maximum DCH capacity ,measured in channel elements 384. Maximum number of HSDPA users per cell carrier 96.

RAX
The RAX boards available in an RBS receive uplink data from the mobile device users. The process of incoming data is shared by all RAX boards in the RBS baseband pool. RAX boards are available with various processing capabilities and demodulation modules. Extra capacity is added by license keys or by adding more boards up to maximum capacity.
