Epicyclic Principles
Planets and planet carrier are rotating the annulus is fixed (Voith BHS series RH...) to allow a very compact design mostly proposed for slow running applications. Directions of rotation for driver and driven sides are equal. Planet carrier is fixed in the housing, the annulus is rotating (Voith BHS series RT...) to realise high speed applications. Direction of rotation for driver and driven sides are versus.
