OBJECTIVES OF WANG WANG RADIO

To set up a nationwide and highly interactive multi media platform anchored on satellite radio technology, and reinforced through an internet website, Social Networking, and SMS/MMS.
To develop a popular multimedia brand associated with good governance advocacy, corporate social responsibility, citizens participation, and of Philippine arts and culture advocacy. To develop and popularize a multimedia format primarily of music (OPM), mixed with edutainment-education done in entertainment manner (including giving of awards, rewards, gaming mechanics, and audience participation in news and entertainment programs)

OBJECTIVES OF WANG WANG RADIO

To maximize the potential of satellite radio, the internet, and SMS/MMS to get citizens and local government officials to engage, learn, and get entertained during office hours not traditionally penetrated by mainstream radio and TV.

To penetrate and dominate the uncontested marketplace of piped in music in public places especially municipal halls and barangay halls with the internet and SMS/MMS as additional touch points for target markets to engage.

THE AUDIENCE
A nationwide public address system primarily through the DILG infrastructure (1,400 municipalities + 14, 000 barangay halls) = 15,400 sites Estimated footprint for Municipalities: 200 people/day x 1,400 municipalities = 280,000 people/day Estimated footprint barangay level: 20 people/ day x 14,000 barangays = 280,000 people/day The primary audience 1: LGU officials and National Agencies present at the LGU level. Wang wang radio will be through a radio studio set up and webcast through a dedicated internet leased line

The leased line will hook up with the Dream Satellite TV/Radio facilities in Clark. The Satellite system will distribute all over the Philippines

An interactive website to serve as the primary touch point for audience participation in the edutainment and news/public affairs programs

Has easy listening Original Pilipino Music (OPM) piped in music mixed with Good Governance news and public affairs
Will initially roll out between 8:00 am 5:00 pm working hours (with the option of being 24 hours if municipalities have sound system located outside the buildings). The 8:00-5:00 airing time for radio is traditionally weak in terms of radio penetration rate. The website will ensure 24/7 participation of audience.

Technical set up for the municipalities and the barangays for free ROI will be through advertisements spread over a 5 year period (Term of President Noynoy Aquino) Can be set up to have certain music and news time slots according to dialect (Taglish, Ilokano, Bisaya, Cebuano, Ilonggo) Can do remote/location live feeds through cellphones patched to Wang Wang Radio studio.

Shree FM (Sri Lanka)-Listeners who put I am a Shree FM listener in front of their houses are given the chance to win 1 weeks worth of groceries. Communities which pool the number of signs are given the opportunity to win and get Shree Radio to construct community halls.
