1. Thank you letter.

thank you letter is a letter that is used when one party wishes to express appreciation to another party.  A thank you letter is a brief note sent to each person with whom you met during the interview process. Ideally, it should be typed.

2. The function of Thank you letter.
 (1)Sending

one may make the employer see that you went an extra step.  (2)Thank you letters can also remind the employer of your interview or something they forgot about you, and thank you letters can prove your willingness to follow through with projects.  (3)This is also an opportunity to share with the employer something more about yourself and what you have to offer.

5. The guidelines in writing the letter:
      

Send out your thank you letters as soon as possible (no later than a week) after your interview. Keep your audience in mind - address the issues and concerns that were mentioned during the interview. View the thank you as a follow-up "sales" letter and can restate why you want the job. Use the thank you letter to discuss anything of importance that your interviewer neglected to ask . Send a handwritten note if you are only writing a few sentences. Thank everyone who helps you with your job search . Even if you do not want the job, write a thank you note respectfully withdrawing your application.

6. The format:

First paragraph, thank the interviewer (or express your appreciation) for the chance to meet with them to discuss the job and see the premises. Second paragraph, offer some new information or additional reason for the employer to be interested in you for that job. Repeat the job title you are applying for, and show continued interest in it. Last paragraph, let the employer know (graciously) that you expect to hear from them again and "plant" the idea in her mind of a phone call to you. Make it clear you're willing to come in and discuss the job further, if necessary.
