Carry the extinguisher to the site of fire Pull out the safety pin 2.Method of Operation 1. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire 4. Sweep from side to side . Squeeze the grip lever firmly 5. 3.

For electrical fire. Stay out of thick smoke areas e.Safety Precautions a. Do not use water extinguishers for Class B (flammable liquids and gases) and Class C (energised electrical fires) b. remember to switch for power supply if possible f. Do not stand facing the wind direction d. Do NOT Hold the Discharge Tube when operating the CO2 Fire Extinguisher as it might lead to frostbite . Keep a safe distance c.

HOSE REEL SYSTEM .

Hose extends from 15m to 30m Strength 9m throw ( water dispenses to distance of 9m) Achievable flow rate of 0.4 liters/sec.HOSE REEL ADVANTAGES: Minimise manpower One-man operated User friendly Minimal back pressure Suitable for use by most people Easy to operate/ be deployed Mobility Non-Kinking reinforced rubber about 30m long. .

HOSE REEL It is important to assess the type and source of fire before using a Hose reel to put out the fire! Type of Fire Class A (Solid combustible material) Class B (Flammable gases and liquid) Class C (Electrical fire) Class D (Reactive metals) Hose reel suitability YES NO NO NO .

Checking of Hose Reel Check that there are no obstructions preventing the use of the Hose Reel. Check that the key to unlock the Hose Reel cabinet is housed on the cabinet. .

Notice key at the right corner KEY .Standard Fire Hose Reel enclosed in red cabinet.

Move in an upwind direction to avoid smoke and heat.  In open areas.  Keep your position low whilst fighting fire in an enclosed area. .

.SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  In cases where you are trapped in a smoke logged situation.  Use the hose reel to extinguish solid combustible materials only.  Do not use the hose reel to extinguish Class B (flammable liquids/gases) or C (energised electrical equipment) fires. use the hose reel as a guideline to lead you out from hazard area.

CONCLUSION By applying correct methods of extinguishing fire with proper firefighting equipment. you can save lives and properties!! .
