About Us
AvantGarde System & Solutions Nigeria Ltd
After many years of successful Treasury, Risk Management consulting
and SAP End to End implementations in Africa and the USA , the
founders of AvantGarde Systems and Solutions Ltd saw an opportunity
create a local consulting and Technological company in West Africa
with fresh approach and tested delivery models. AvantGarde Systems
and Solutions is the child -company of CTS Pty Ltd in South Africa and
Gabod Consulting Group LLC in USA.

Our differentiators: The experience we bring from work in the rest of
Africa and the USA, availability of in-house treasury and banking
business skills complemented by SAP technical skills , encouraging
entrepreneurial flair (but with accountability), development of local
talent through training and mentorship and a drive for innovation.

Our Team
Victor Nkomo
Victor Nkomo has extensive experience as a Senior Treasury business & Systems consultant,
and presenter on treasury training courses. Victors expertise lies in managing Treasury in the
key areas of cash and liquidity management, managing financial instruments and risk
management (market and credit risks). Victor continues to share his innovation and wisdom in
the interesting world of Treasury and systems and has successfully developed efficient up-to-
date policies, procedures, strategies, performance measurement systems and internal control
systems. His experience with major investment banks and public corporates give him and
AvantGarde an edge to advise Corporate and Government entities on a range of treasury
management and risk management issues. Victor has in the past worked for Deutshe Bank,
Rand Merchant Bank and his treasury business experience is complemented by over 7 years of
implementing SAP Treasury and Risk management systems. Implementing Treasury systems in
corporates of different business nature has given Victor a great understanding of treasury
processes, equipping him to assist clients in all aspects of their Treasury and Risk Management
function.

Our Team
Lloyd Chisholm
Lloyd Chisholm has both an accounting and IT background and has a BComm. degree from the
University of Cape Town and a CISA qualification. Lloyd has worked in major corporates
(Caltex (6 years), SAP (12 years), Nedbank Group (4 years)) in senior management positions
and headed up the SAP Africa financial services division and was an executive member of SAP
Africa. Lloyd is a highly experienced Project and Programme manager and has worked in a
professional consulting environment at the likes of Deloitte, SAP Consulting and Ernst & Young
(Executive Director) in general IT advisory, SAP solution delivery and practice development.
Lloyd has extensive SAP and Banking, IT experience. Lloyd has received awards at SAP
(Pinnacle Performer x 2) and at Nedbank (Chairmans award). Key areas of expertise and
experience include Project and Programme Management (15 years), Leadership (20 Years),
Entrepreneur (3years) SAP experience (25 Years) and Sales (12 Years).

DR Victor Gumbo
Victor holds a PhD in (OR) Financial Modeling, MSc in Mathematics of Finance, Honors in
Mathematics and a BSc Mathematics, Professional Certificate in Financial Modeling (New York
Inst. of Finance) and is a Certified Basel II Professional. Victors distinguished expertise lies in
the following areas Credit & Market Risk Modeling, Basel II & Solvency II (Banking sector,
Insurance sector & Other lending corporates), Revenue Forecasting & Modeling (Revenue
Authorities &Local Government Municipalities) and project/enterprise valuation using state-of-the
art methodologies. His training has benefited many professionals in the banking, tax and the real
projects industries within SADC and beyond. He has worked in various universities, private
consultancy and in the banking industry, basically building different types of models. He does
research, training and consultancy in many spheres of financial mathematics including capital
budgeting, interest rate modeling, risk analysis, portfolio theory and derivative option pricing. He
is currently involved in major Basel II/III implementation projects around SADC and East Africa
He is a partner of the well-known California-based company, Real Options Valuation Inc. headed
by Dr Jonathan Mun (www.realoptionsvaluation.com).

Our Team
Dr. Blessing Mudavanhu
Dr. Blessing Mudavanhu is on the advisory board of CTS. He has a lot experience working in the
financial services industry as a senior executive, which includes being a Chief Risk Officer for a regional
African bank. He also spent many years working on Wall Street, where he was a Director in Global Risk
Management at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York. Dr. Mudavanhu also worked as a Senior
Risk Analytics Associate in the Enterprise Risk Management Group at American International Group
also in New York. He is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer of Financial Mathematics in the School of
Computational and Applied Mathematics and also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Wits Business
School at the University of Witwatersrand. Dr. Mudavanhu holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours)
degree in Mathematics from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Science degree and a Doctorate
in Mathematics from the University of Washington in the United States. Blessing Mudavanhu also holds
a Master of Science in Financial Engineering from the Haas School of Business, University of California
at Berkeley also in the United States. He has published many research papers in the Journal of
Investment Management and in many mathematics journals. Dr. Mudavanhu was an Adjunct Professor
of Risk Management at the City University of New York. He is listed in Whos Who in America and is a
recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship. He is an invited speaker to many international risk management
and financial mathematics conferences.

Adebola Akapo
Akapo holds a 1st Class Degree in Computer Engineering and PGD from University of
Liverpool, whilst also enrolled in Masters in Systems Design and Project Leadership from
Cornell. Having served in IT, Telecoms & Security for the past 10 years with continued
success in meeting targeted objectives, Akapo is a professional who not only can provide
measurable results, but a candidate with extensive Technical and Managerial skill-set. Along
with an extensive background, he has Master level of knowledge of multiple technologies
and IT disciplines, able to design planning for accessibility, scalability, and availability, with
broad knowledge of IT and business standards and best practices and how to apply them
appropriately in solutions. He holds over 20 professional certifications. Akapo's
distinguished expertise lies in the following areas - SAP Security and GRC, Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Quality Assurance (QA), Capacity Planning, Project
Management & Documentation, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), SAP Implementation Project

Riaan Osthuizen
Riaan Oosthuizen matriculated in 1979 and enrolled at the North West University for a BComm.
Degree In 1985. He obtained a BComm.(Hons.) degree in law and Finance. By condonation by
the Judge President, Riaan was appointed State Advocate in 1987, where he appeared for the
State in several high profile High Court cases. In 1989 he was appointed as Private Secretary to
the then Minister of Police. In 1990 he joined the South African Navy , with the rank of
Lieutenant. In 1992, Riaan ventured into business and in the period 1992 till 2001, Riaan was
the CEO of several successful businesses, both in South Africa, Thailand, The Netherlands and
the United States. In 2001 he obtained an LLM degree (Cum Laude) from the Rijkuniversiteit of
Groningen in the Netherlands. He returned to South Africa in 2002 an established one of the
most successful SAP Practices, Tadcon and Elemental. Both companies were sold to a leading
IT company in South Africa in 2006. In 2007, Riaan established Invent Resource Solutions, a
household name in SAP and Information Technology in South Africa and Africa. In 2014, Riaan
was appointed as head of Innovation of Digital Technology Collaborative (Pty) Limited, with the
primary responsibility to development and introducing of groundbreaking solutions for some of
the leading corporate organizations globally. Riaan has published several articles and acted as
guest speaker at numerous conferences on Corporate Governance and innovation.

Mrs Louisa Muparuri
A Certified Microsoft Professional, Louisa holds an MSc in Operations Research and a BSc in
Computer Science. She is a guru in: PROGRAMMING ( JAVA, PHP, HTML, C, VISUAL
BASIC, CAL), DATABASES ( SQL SERVER, MS ACCESS, ORACLE),OPERATING
SYSTEMS ( ALL MS WINDOWS PLATFORMS, MS DOS, LINUX),Louisa has developed and
implemented various systems for the following organizations: Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe
(CBZ) Basel II Implementation systems, FBC Bank - Basel II Implementation, Champions
Insurance Solvency II Implementation, Volkswagen Off board Diagnostics Information System
(ODIS) Implementation for FCM Motors. Navision implementation for 4 business units in the
Caps holdings Group with MRP module implementation in one of these units. CAPS staff clinic
and Human Resources database development, JSI Computerization package for delivering
contraceptives, Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board Stop Order Capturing System- A
Java/Oracle-based application for capturing growers' stop orders from creditors to ensure
flexibility in payments/deductions from farmers' earnings. RioZim Online Costing reportsfrom
Syspro. Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board Fax-Email Gateway server-A Fax to email
gateway for sending/receiving faxes electronically to avoid paper and ink wastages through
conventional methods.
