The term special economic zone (SEZ) is commonly
used as a generic term to refer to any modern economic
zone. In these zones business and trades laws that differ
from the rest of the country
SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE
The term Special Economic Zone can include

1. Free trade zones (FTZ),
2. Export processing zones (EPZ),
3. Free zones/ free economic zones (FZ/ FEZ),
4. Industrial parks/ industrial estates (IE),
5. Free ports,
6. Bonded logistics parks (BLP)
7. Urban enterprise zones.
India was one of the first countries in Asia to recognize the
effectiveness of the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) model in
promoting exports, with Asia's first EPZ set up in Kandla in
1965.
In order to overcome the shortcomings experienced on
account of the multiplicity of controls and clearances;
absence of world-class infrastructure, and an unstable fiscal
regime and with a view to attract larger foreign investments
in India, the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) Policy was
announced in April 2000.
INDIA and SEZ
The objectives of SEZs can be explained as

1.Generation of additional economic activity;
2.Promotion of exports of goods and services;
3.Promotion of investment from domestic and foreign
sources
4.Creation of employment opportunities;
5.Development of infrastructure facilities.

The incentives and facilities available to SEZ developers

manpower makes it ideal for setting up jewellery and software
development units.
NSEZ has 202 developed plots of varying sizes, besides fourteen
standard design factory complexes that can accommodate one
hundred seventy six units. mtrs.).
One SDF ( Standard design factory) block of sixteen units is
also under construction.
Future expansion has been strategically planned and when
implemented fully, the zone would be able to provide 224 SDF
units.
NSEZ, is very well
connected via Noida
expressway, and lies
in Delhi NCR area.
Due to this reason ,
many other SEZ are
