What is a substation?
An electrical
substation takes

homes & businesses

Water comes
from the water
plant in very big
pipes (taller than a nio),
yet it comes out
in your cocina or
bao in much
smaller pipes.
What is a substation?
The electrical substation in the 1800 block of
Allen Street is similar to this one.
Think of it like
a connector for
different sized
water pipes.

Electricity is made at
a very high, powerful
voltage. A substation
safely changes the
electricity from very
high voltage to lower
voltage we can use.

invisible electrical
waves. Some
scientists believe
