MISSIONS SUNDAY 2014
Mission's Sunday happens every 5th SUNDAY
of a particular month that has 5 Sundays in it.
This is usually every QUARTER of every Annual Calendar.

TODAY IS MISSIONS
SUNDAY
THE MISSIONS DEPARTMENT has affected
communities and transformed lives in the LORD
J ESUS CHRIST through church site launches.

Our HLM MISSIONS DEPARTMENT is not a regular
DEPARTMENT, it has a VISION, a FORCE attached with
it. IT IS A SUPERNATURAL FAITH MOVEMENT of
reaching people for the LORD J ESUS CHRIST in THE
POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT and with MAKING
DISCIPLES are a PRIMARY INTENTION
(bawal ang lagaw lagaw lang :-))
ONE OF THE BEST THING IT HAS PRODUCED are
VOLUNTEERS from Housewives to Business People
doing the ACTUAL WORK of a
NEW TESTAMENT CHRISTIAN!

This is a miracle in itself! ALL OUT
FOR WORLD Transformation ...
every Soul for the LORD!
The spirit of Christ is the spirit
of missions. The nearer we get to
Him, the more intensely
missionary we become.
Henry Martyn

GOD wants to start with
someone who BELIEVES!

WHATEVER
WHEREVER
WHENEVER
attitude

Can you SAY

Thats me!
He is talking about me!

Faith is taking the first
step even when you
don't see the whole
staircase.

- Martin Luther King, Jr.
Faith is active.
It's not passive.
It's a commitment.

Abraham believed God, the Bible records.
How do we know it?
We saw it. He behaved in a way that his
belief came out visibly. "Abraham believed
God and it was accredited to him as
righteousness and he was called God's
friend."
GOD wants to start with
someone who BELIEVES!

WHATEVER
WHEREVER
WHENEVER
attitude

WHY THIS FAITH ATTITUDE?

Because Faith pleases God.
Because Faith is needed today.
Because the Righteous shall live by Faith.

Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
And without faith it is impossible to please
God, because anyone who comes to him must
believe that he exists and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.

Hebreo 11:6 (Hiligaynon Bible)

Do you want to work WITH GOD?
Do you want to work FOR GOD?

Faith is the beginning of a WORKING
relationship with God!
-- mamisok kalang quotes of JR 2014

if that thing is not
from FAITH ...
it is sin
see ROMANS 14:23
Faith is built up through the regular intake of the
Word of God.
Quiet moments with the LORD everyday is a source
of power, productivity and a
well-pleasing life unto the Lord. These moments
must be coupled with a submissive obedience and a
whole hearted devotion towards the call of God
to believe.

article: Godly RISK Takers

Will we believe God for big things?
If the answer is yes, then we automatically
become godly risk-takers -- men and women
who trust God and live by faith and not by
sight. When we teach our people to take risks,
we are teaching them to develop faith in God.

article: Godly RISK Takers

No Small Dreams
One way to teach this concept is to take people to Mark
10:27b (NIV): all things are possible with God.
Ask your leaders to circle the word all, and to write the
letters NSD next to that verse.

NSD means No Small Dreams. We serve a big God, and he
says the size of our faith will determine the size of our
blessings in life: According to your faith will it be
done to you. ... (Matthew 9:29, NIV)
Romans 10:17 (NKJV)

So then faith comes by hearing, and
hearing by the word of God.
"FAITH is really important to God.
It is the currency of His kingdom, and our
experience of His kingdom depends on
what we are able to believe."
-- GGS NOTES

For whatever reason, God chose faith to
be the primary basis of relating to Him.
After the fall, we cant see God and walk
with Him like Adam and Eve seemed to be
able to do.

The way we relate to God, and everything
we receive from Him, must be by faith
now. So when He chose a man and a
family and a nation through whom to
reveal Himself, He began with someone
who believed: Abraham.

A 75 YEAR OLD believer!
1. Go to the land
I will show you.
(Genesis 12:1)
Abrahams father had begun moving
the family to Canaan, but settled
halfway. [HALF WAY is not enough]
Abraham was called to leave his family
and everything familiar to him.
He was not given any information more
than the next step.
Personal application:

How would the people around you react
if you said you were moving but had no
idea where?

What is God saying?

Faith requires risk and getting out of our
comfort zone.
God keeps us in relationship with Him by
rarely giving more than the next
step. We cant rely on principles or
follow a plan. We have to LISTEN to
Him.
DO NOT FEAR to FAIL

It is OK to FAIL!
HLM AYALA Volunteers Talk

It reveals what went wrong
It reveals the need for the LORD!
2. I will make you
into a great nation.
(Genesis 12:2)

Abraham had no descendants yet and
was already well past age.
Abrahams attempts to help fulfill Gods
promise only complicated things.
Both Abraham and Sarah laughed
when God affirmed that His promise
would soon come to pass.

But the New Testament says they
believed without wavering
(Romans 4:18-21).
Personal application:

How would you react to a couple in their
90s who were still clinging to their belief
that they would one day have a child?

What is God saying?

He is the promise keeper.
We dont need to help Him.
The path to fulfillment may be
filled with twists and turns and take a
very long time.

If we land in a place of faith, God calls
it not wavering even when weve
had questions, doubts, and maybe
laughed at the absurdity along the
way.
3. Take your son, your
only son, Isaac, whom
you love. (Genesis 22:2)

Isaac was born 25 years after
the promise.
God had already ruled out Ishmael
as the fulfillment.
Abraham had a choice between
clinging to Gods promise and letting
it go. Did he wonder if God was
contradicting Himself?

Abraham surrendered. But did he really?
Hebrews 11:19 says he expected God
to miraculously fulfill the promise
anyway.
Personal application:

How would you respond if God told you to
give up the most important thing to
yousomething He had promised you
long ago?
What is God saying?

Love Him above all else.
Believe Him even when He seems to
wound your heart at its most
vulnerable place.
Cling to hope in His goodness but
release expectations for how He will
show it.
Conclusion:
Hebrews 11:6 says it is impossible to
please God without faith.

The Apostle Paul wrote that we walk by
faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Jesus said all things are possible to those
who believe (Mark 9:23).

Apparently, faith is really important to
God. It is the currency of His kingdom,
and our experience of His kingdom
depends on what we are able to
believe.
Abraham did not FIGHT
the many false religions
around him.
Abraham did not FLEE and
live in a monastery.
Abraham focused on God
and FOLLOWED Him
and attained mastery
over his life and
situation.

Abraham focused on
being a BLESSING!
