In other words, the ‘stress response’ of an individual
occurs when we feel we cannot control, handle or
resolve a situation, yet we are unable to leave or
get away from the thing that is causing our stress.
Understanding Stress
EUSTRESS & DISTRESS
• Eustress, a type of positive stress is actually good for
your body. It is basically a desirable form of stress which
is healthful and gives a feeling of contentment. It keeps
you excited about life.
• Eg :being offered a job promotion
• Distress (medicine) occurs when an individual
cannot adapt to stress.It’s a negative stress leading to
mental agitation.
•Eg :financial problems,heavy workload
