“Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you.

Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.” Hebrews 13:7

Paul told the Hebrews to consider the outcome of their leaders’ lives, and if their leaders are truly living according to God’s will, to imitate their faith.

Discipleship / Mentoring:
A biblical concept. “Go and make disciples...”
Matthew 28:19

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.”
2 Timothy 2:2

Being a leader is being a model. model

As you step up to leadership, you are always in a position where your every move is scrutinized.

All of us are models.

Be careful with the way you act because you are always in a position to affect someone’s spiritual growth or stumble.

All of us are models, most especially

if you call yourself a Christian!

“Satan is perfectly willing to have a person confess Christianity... ...as long as he/she does not practice it.”

Spiritual Maturity
Ephesians 4:13

“...until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”

To be like Christ. Christ
Ephesians 4:13, 5:1-2; Philippians 2:5

• Spiritual maturity is evidenced through your fruit! • Galatians 5:22-23 (Fruit of the Spirit) • As Christ’s disciples, we are expected to bear fruit.
John 14:8 “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

To attain Christ-likeness, we must spend time with God regularly.
John 8:31 “If you hold on to my teaching, you are really my disciples.”

You cannot stay forever young in your spiritual life!
“Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity...” Hebrews 6:1

If we do our part in developing our spiritual life, we can be good role models for new believers and help lead them to maturity.

The road to becoming heaven’s next top model is not easy.

The Bible promised grace for us so we can be top models of God’s kingdom.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12:9

Holding on and keeping our eyes focused on our Ultimate Model (Jesus Christ).

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
