1. Food is a basic need of animals. 2. Some animals feed on other animals, while other animals feed on plants. Some animals eat both plants and other animals. 3. Animals need to eat because food gives animals a) Energy to work b) Heat to keep their bodies worm c) Nutrients to grow and stay healthy 4. Animals need food to stay alive. So some animals move from one place to another to find food. 1. Water is a basic need of animals. 2. Land animals drink water from ponds, lakes or rivers. 3. Animals need water because: a) Maintain their body temperature b) Break down the food they eat c) Carry nutrients to different parts of their bodies d) Carry wastes out of their bodies
4. Animals need water to stay alive. So some animals move from place to place to find out water.

Birds use twigs, leaves, grass and their saliva to build their nets. 2. Nest are shelter for birds to lay their eggs and to take care of their young. 3. Birds build their nests high up in the branches of a tree to protect themselves and their young from predators.
1. A cave is a large hole in the side of hill or mountain. 2. Caves are shelter for tigers, bears, and bats. 3. Caves let tiger and bears keep out of the rain and heat on a hot day. 4. Caves also provide bats with a cool and dark place to sleep during the day. 1. Rabbits, earthworms and fox make holes in the grounds as their shelters. 2. These holes or burrows protect the animals from their predators and the hear of the sun.

Tree squirrels also keep their food such as nuts berries that the collect in the hole. 1. Coral reefs are shelter for shrimps, lobsters, crabs, and clown fish. 2. Coral reefs protect these animals from their predators.
