On Job Training
On the job training is a form of training
taking place in a normal working
situation.

Job Rotation
the trainees are rotated over various
routine jobs in a department, division or
unit
trainee receives job knowledge and gains
experience from his supervisor or trainer
in each of the different job assignments
Job rotation can be either horizontally or
vertically

People are prepared more rapidly to accept
greater responsibility

filling the position.

Disadvantages:

Job knowledge is

In coaching the trainee is placed under a


senior manager who acts as an guide or
coach and teaches job knowledge and skill
to the trainee.

Advantage:

It creates the opportunities for high level


interaction and rapid feedback on performance.

One to one interaction

Disadvantage

Trainee may not have the freedom or


opportunity to express his own ideas.
The effectiveness of this technique
relies on the ability of the concerned
'coach'.
