Different Subway Lines
Acupuncture, Meridian & Tokyo Subway Subway Station Acupuncture Point
“Acu-Point” Subway Line Meridian Subway line (Meridian) goes under the surface ground (Skin). Along the Subway line (Meridian), you may find an exit from the underground (Acu-Point). If the exit is stuffed,
you may insert needle into it (acupuncture) or put herb to burn on it (moxibustion).
12 Subway Lines in the Body •Small Intestine •Triple Heater (Burner) •Large Intestine •Stomach •Liver •Spleen •Kidney •Heart •Governing Vessel •Lung •Bladder •Gall Bladder

Bonghan’s Rise & Fall: Do Acupoints & Meridians Exist?
Bong Han Kim (Kim Bong Han), from North Korea, announced
that he had found a new system composed of “Bonghan corpuscles” & “Bonghan ducts” in 1963 “Bonghan corpuscles” correspond with Acupuncture Points & “Bonghan ducts” with Meridians. By this discovery, Kim became the national hero of North Korea. Scientists all over the world could NOT confirm his discovery. Some even claimed his discovery was Artifacts during histological staining. Austrian histologist G. Kellner stated as follows;
“Bonghan corpuscle” is “end body”, a residual stump of capillary remained after embryonic development. “Bonghan duct” is corresponding residual capillary. Ikaw , Pa described them in “Structure & Function of Skin” ta
Bonghan’s theory suddenly turned into scientific scandal. Bonghan is allegedly reported to have committed SUICIDE.
What is Yin & Yang? (1): Basics
Yang (+): Positive in Polarity Yin (-): Negative in Polarity
Taoistic view of the World
Water is Yin Soft is Yin Cold is Yin Inhibition is Yin Excessive Fatigue is Yin Slowness is Yin Wet is Yin Conservation is Yin
Fire is Yang Hard is Yang Hot is Yang Excitement is Yang Restless is Yang Rapidity is Yang Dry is Yang Transformation is Yang
Why would you need to know this theory anyway?
What is Yin & Yang? (2): 5 Elements Theory Element (+/-) Fire Yin Fire Yang Earth Yin Earth Yang Metal Yin Metal Yang Water Yin Water Yang Wood Yin Wood Yang Organ Heart / Pericardium Small Intestine / Triple Heater Spleen / Pancreas Stomach Lungs Large Intestine Kidneys Bladder Liver Gall Bladder
Paired Meridians will be important in the next discussion
Electrophysiology of Meridians
Electro-dermal studies revealed that the current
response against the applied voltage showed decaying curve. Only when the voltage was applied to so-called well points of paired meridians (Yin/Yang) at the tip of fingers & toes, the current responses showed Yin>>Yang relationship. This response is believed to be the index of the Energy flowing along each Meridian. Studies also revealed the Meridian lies in the water-rich phase of the Dermis.
Meridian Subway: Who are the passengers?
Each subway line transports its passenger, “Bioenergy” or a.k.a.,
Ki Qi Pneuma = Prana = Japanese = Chinese Greek = Hindi
What is Qi (Chi) Energy? •Qi-Gong (ch'i kung): An internal Chinese meditative practice that uses slow graceful movements (sometimes with breathing techniques) to promote the circulation of Qi within the human body & enhance a practitioner's overall health.) •Tai-Chi Chuan (Martial Arts)
•Biophoton studies with photon counters revealed the photon emission from a certain acupuncture point (or points) increased when the intention was present. •I myself increased photon-emission from Ro-Kyu point (Palm) with Qi-Gong technique.

The Flow of Qi in the 12 Regular Meridians: Zang-Fu Organ
•Qi energy flows in the direction shown above. •“Zang-Fu Organ Theory” states the energy flows in paired meridians that belong to the same Element (e.g., Metal Yin: Lung Metal Yang: Large Intestine) •From Lung To Liver, the flow completes its cycle.
•Synergistic Energy Flow •Antagonistic Flow •1 Organ’s Deficiency •1 Organ’s Compensation •1 Organ Supplies… •1 Organ Sucks Up… •Excess… •Deficiency…

Chronobiological Aspects of Meridians & Circadian Rhythm
•Diurnal or Nocturnal activity of life is now recognized as Chronobiology. •In Phamacology, timing of medication is quite important since it has much to do with the sensitivity of body cells & tissues against administered drugs. (Chronopharmacology) •Meridian activity also shows Daily Alteration, in other words, “Circadian Rhythm”. •Lung intake Chi energy in the morning, then excreting body waste from the Large Intestine, Stomach meridian paves the way for the breakfast. •During my lecture, Spleen & Pancreas should become more active, preparing yourself for the forthcoming Lunch Break together with digesting your breakfast.

Recap: Before Closing the Topic
•Traditional Chinese Medicine utilizes the Meridian. •Meridians have Acupuncture Points on the surface. •Qi energy flows along the Meridian. •Each meridian belongs to an element with polarity. •Energy Deficiency or Excess causes Diseases. •Diagnosis is based on Tongue, Pulse and so forth. •Manipulation of Acupuncture needle ameliorates the conditions & alleviates pains. •Moxibustion does the same work as acu-needle. •Herbal Medicine also utilizes this system for Diagnosis & Evaluation of Prognosis.
