Description:
The direct freight tendering scenario is intended for shippers
wanting to contact a specific forwarding agent to arrange
transportation services. The main focus of direct freight tendering
is to determine carrier availability. Prices are not relevant as they
might be already contracted with the forwarding agent.
Business Process:
Consider fixed carrier assignment in sales order, for example, if a
customer is always delivered with the same carrier

Wise Men TM RDS 2 Broadcast Tendering

Description:
This tendering scenario is intended for shippers who perform
transportation planning in SAP ERP, but who wish to use the
tendering functionality of SAP TM. The focus is on sending an RFQ
to possible carriers, then selecting a carrier by availability and
submitted price, and then awarding the business (for example,
submitting the freight order) to the carrier.
Business Process:
LTL shipments will be awarded to the carrier offering the best
price . Available carriers are defined in the transportation network.

Wise Men TM RDS 3 Multistep Tendering

Description:
This is a 2 step scenario. In the first step, tenders are sent to two
preferred carriers sequentially with peer-to-peer tendering. Since
none of them has availability, broadcast tendering is performed
in a second step to request the transportation service from
further carriers in parallel. After selecting the most appropriate
carrier based on the best price quotation, the carrier is
subcontracted and the ERP shipment is updated with the carrier
and the shipment costs to be ready for execution.
