Potentiality of Shale Gas in Indonesia

Backgrounds:
Indonesia has numerous shale gas basins
that are only
now starting to be evaluated.
Eastern Indonesia and Sumatra (Western
Indonesia)
have been identified as the main
development areas
for Shale Gas.

CONCLUSION
Need more study in details for Shale core, to
determined the
Indonesians Shale Gas reservoir properties
especially in
Petrophysical properties.
In Western Indonesia, Gumai Shale and Baong
Shale have
potential for shale reservoirs.
Jurassic shale in Masela area could be an
analogue for other
old higher potential shales in Eastern Indonesia.
