INTRODUCTION

Education is so important and it should be supported by proper

planning and improved facilities that will enable information
technologies integration that will lead to easy information
analysis.

The trend towards using GIS and Education mapping to support

decision making for Ministries of Education and educational
facilities are becoming very important for planning purposes.

Building that part of GIS layers with showing school locations

and other significant geographic features such as streets,
railroads, city-zoning, school-directorates, sub-districts, districts,
governorates and other features would provide an excellent tool
for planners.

OBJECTIVE

To prepare Geospatial database of school in Chennai district with

details of amenities.

To develop a decision support system

To assess the adequacy of existing schools infrastructure

To find the schools of Differently abled schools

STUDY AREA: JORDAN
The objective of this paper is to build a proper Geographic Information
System (GIS) data-model that can be used for school mapping planning,
where all schools with attribute data would be available for problem
solving and decision-making in Education.

THE APPLICATION OF GIS TO THE SCHOOL MAPPING IN

BANGKOK
YokoMakino, Seisuke Watanabe
STUDY AREA:BANGKOK

This study collected the available non-spatial school

related data from all the ministries and Bangkok
Metropolitan Administration (BMA), and developed
database integrated into GIS data to analyze the current
school distribution.

From the findings of this study, the current haphazard

school allocation could be interpreted easily by GIS
analyses.
