PSYCHOLOGICAL HARASSMENT

AT WORK (MOBBING OR
WORKPLACE BULLYING)

About the term.

In

the U.S., the experience of workplace bullying is

often referred to as "employee abuse", or "workplace
terrorism". American experts are also familiar with the
expression of "mobbing", which is used in Germany, Italy
and Sweden, for example. In the U.K., the phenomenon
is called both "workplace bullying" and simply
"bullying". The latter term, however, is predominantly
used in the context of bullying in schools, which implies
more physical aggression and threats than bullying at
the workplace (EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT (2001),
BULLYING AT WORK).

What is mobbing or work place

bullying?
