5-4X Where: X = Number of actual score/Number of items

IV. Sample Computation
Prelim Period Participation Major Exam Student A (30% or .3) 50 Points 40 (60% or .6) 100 items 85 Attendance Prelim (10% or .1) Grade 12 days 12 1.6

MELJUN CORTES,MBA,MPA

Solution:

Student A Participation 5-4 (40/50) 1.8 (30 % or .3) P = .54

Major Exam 5-4 (85/100) 1.6 (60% or .6) ME = .96

Attendance 5-4 (12/12) 1.0 (.1) A= .1 .54 + .96 + .1

Prelim Grade of Student A = P+ME+A Prelim Grade = 1.6

Midterm Period
Midterm Student A
Participation (30% or .3) Major Exam Attendance (60% or .6) (10% or .1) Midterm Grade

50 points 30

100 items 75

12 days 11 2.0

MELJUN CORTES,MBA,MPA

Solution:
Student A Participation 5-4 (30/50) 2.6 (30 % or .3) P = .78 Major Exam 5-4 (75/100) 2.0 (60% or .6) ME = 1.2 Attendance 5-4 (11/12) 1.3 (.1) A= .13

Midterm Rating of Student A = P+ME+A .78 + 1.2 + .13 = 2.1 Midterm Grade of Student A = 30 % of Prelim Grade + 70 % of Midterm Rating = 1.6 (.30) + 2.1 (.70) .5 + 1.5 Midterm Grade = 2.0
