INTEGRATED POWER SUPPLY

HEART OF SIGNALLING SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

IPS HAS AN INTEGRATION OF VARIOUS AC&DC POWER SUPPLIES CONSISTS OF A COMBINATION OF RECTIFIERS,INVERTERS,CVT’ S, STEP UP/STEP DOWN TRANSFORMERS,DC-DC CONVERTERS VARIOUS CONTROL, ALARM&PROTECTION UNITS ARE ALSO PRESENT

WHY IPS ?
Earlier various different types of AC & DC power systems from various sources for different applications were procurred. A need arised to consolidate all power requirements and procure integrated systems from single agency so that house keeping and maintenance of the system become easy and affordable.

KEY FEATURES
   

  

EMI / RFI Protection Special Surge Protection Design. Temperature Compensated Battery Charger. MOSFET/IGBT based Inverter to take care of surge current to operate inductive / Captive load. Static Bypass in Offline / Online mode selectively and NIL transfer time. Special type transformer and transformer rectifier with spare selection and digital / analog fault diagnosis system. Manual measurement and microprocessor based measurement and alarming system. Temperature & Fire protection. Complete Modular design. Special AC/DC, Input/Output and Battery Distribution Unit. Force cooling.

TYPES OF IPS

IPS for PI stations in non-RE area IPS for PI stations in RE area IPS for end cabin MACL

TECHNICALADVANTA GES OVER CONVENTIONAL EQUIPMENTS
     

 

Digital Control Digital Power Management Power Monitoring Efficiency Improvement Gate drive Voltage Variation Digital has Memory, Analogue does not Prevents the Shutdown of a Power System Remote monitoring possible Alarm Facility

FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS

COMMON PC BOARD USED FOR CONTROLLING ALL THE POWER SUPPLIES.IT SAVES SPENDING ON DIFFERENT TYPES OF CONTROL CARDS POWER LOSS LESS EMI/RFI SHIELDING PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT

  

LESS OUTDOOR WIRING REQUIRED AS AGAINST IN CONVENTIONAL EQUIPMENTS WHERE INVERTERS CHARGERS, TRANSFORMERS WERE CONNECTED CREATING DROPAGE IN VOLTAGE DUE TO LONG WIRING CONNECTIONS LESS BULKY SMALL ROOM SIZE FAULT EASILY DETECTED

PRACTICAL ADVANTAGES

CONCLUSION
The overall cost of the power system using digital approach is lower than the Analogue solution if all the factors such as common building block, testing, flexibility to change the design parameters areconsidered. Moreover we have more power back up facility with less chance of failure .
