INTRODUCTION

GOALS

I will be able to analyze any short story or novel for point of view,
characters, settings, structures, tones, styles, symbols, allegories, ideas, and
themes.
How?
- Become an expert on a literary element(s).
- Learn about other literary elements from my peers.
Why? (why else?)
- So I can accomplish this on any passage I am given on my AP exam.
- So that I can analyze high level literature through out the year to add and
participate in class discussions.

END RESULT- SHORT STORY TEST

You will be given a random short st


ory and will have to complete the f
ollowing chart.
Also, you will have a literary terms
test on Friday, September 9th.
Chart test on September 8th.

TASK
With your group members, read and discuss your assigned
chapter in the Roberts Literature textbook.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to teach the class about
your chapter. The PPT should include an overview of your
chapter, a thorough summary of each section in the
chapter, a detailed explanation of all relevant literary
terminology.
Make detailed connections to the assigned short story
as it relates to your chapter topic.

PROJECT GUIDELINES
In class work days: Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday
(8/25-30) Computer lab Monday and Tuesday (Room 502)
(conferences with Ms. Alferi)
Presentation days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (8/31- 9/2)

PPT must be emailed/Edsby to me by Tuesday night (8/30)


All group members must speak during the presentation
You may use written notes while presenting
