PE tutorial Week 2
The aim of this tutorial was to bring new light for us pre-service teachers
to learn and to bring into our future teaching lessons. The games and
activities conducted through this lesson were invasion games and was
modified through games sense to fit into a classroom environment. This
week was outside on the oval, and we learned how to modify games and
warm up activities. Each game consisted of game sense and fundamental
motor skills, as they were modified to meet the needs of the students.
The games we played were Bull rush, Oz tag, and ultimate frisbee. The
aim was addressed throughout the lesson as each game was played with
game sense. As we were playing, our teacher would stop the game to
explain the game further and to modify the rules. He would also ask us
questions that helped us reflect and discuss what we were doing and how
we could improve the activities. We stated that it would be better if we
could widened out the field and had a larger playing space and adding
more rules. Through the participation of this tutorial, I learned that when
teaching it can be a fun activity to involve two different aspects of the
sport, such as instead of the ball in Oz tag we can use a frisbee. This
allows the students to use skills in the previous game and use it in the
new game. I also learned that it is important to ask the students to reflect
and discuss ways how we can change the game to suit the needs greater.

PE tutorial Week 4
The aim of this week's tutorial was to focus on problem-solving skills
in PE. The aim was addressed throughout all activities conducted
throughout this lesson. The activities we did was traffic cones, where
six cones are placed on the ground, and each person stands in front
of one cone. Then they have to make their way to the other side
while still in the correct order. Another activity was being blindfolded
and getting across the other side of the basketball courts without
touching the objects on the ground. These activities we played and
more, all required communication, problem-solving and teamwork.
Through participating in this lesson, I learned that giving students
activities such as the ones provided in this tutorial can help boost
their cognitive development in working together with shared thinking
strategies. Other activities through this lesson where crossing the
pond using only lily pads and passing the ball, but then changing it to
make it faster. My personal learning from this lesson, helped me
understand the importance of game sense and how activities can be
modified to fit the needs of the students. I also have come across
that I hate problem-solving because my group could not get the
outcome we wanted, but in the end, it made us communicate better

PDH tutorial Week 3

The aim of tutorial week 3 was to demonstrate how we could conduct a lesson
plan for healthy living and how to construct a lesson plan. The topics discussed
included the bad benefits of sugar, drugs, and alcohol. The aim of this lesson was
addressed by first learning how to plan a lesson. As a class, we learned about the
common elements in a lesson plan. These include a brief contextual description,
lesson objectives, time and space allocations, learning activities, task presentation
and structure, assessment of learning and review and closure. After we learned
and discussed lesson plans, each table group received a lesson plan with topics
(sugar, drugs, and alcohol). We had to discuss the teaching considerations as well
as what activities that would be good to teach and why. Teaching considerations
discussed in the class was that it was important to make topics fun and exciting,
talk about real life experiences students may be having, and prevent ways from
these topics. From participating in this lesson, I learned the importance of
teaching subjects as they can help to avoid decisions in the future for many
students. I also learned about planning a well structured PDH lesson that will
benefit from students to learn about.

PDH tutorial Week 10

Week 10 lesson aim was teaching us future teachers in teaching sexual

education. My teacher presented important points that should be
established in the classroom to create an inclusive classroom
environment for students to feel safe and secure. An example of this was
students could talk about the different types of family structures there
have such as having two moms or only having a dad. Another point
addressed in this lesson was that schools must teach emotional
resilience, it is stated that if students are aware of this, then, they more
likely to have a better social and emotional wellbeing. The learning from
participating in this tutorial taught me life tips that I can use in my future
teaching classroom. An idea shared was to have an anonymous box,
where students could place questions in the box without anyone knowing.
The point of having this box is to teach the whole class rather than only
teaching an individual. Some students may encounter these points and
problem in the future or are dealing them with it too, but do not want to
bring it up. I also learned about the importance of observation and
