Written response in 21

The written response can be given on
the day of the public hearing itself.
If the applicant does not come, it can
be sent back to the Lok Sunwai
Sahayata Kendra.
The response must be a reasoned one
explaining by when the grievance
will be redressed or why redress is not
possible.

Monitoring and appeal


Helplines and District level online systems
can ensure monitoring at the Block and
Panchayat levels.
The Rajasthan law is weak on appeals
because there is no automatic escalation or
an independent appellate authority.
The central draft Grievance Redress Bill has
an independent appellate authority at the
District level and follows the information
commission model at the State and Central
levels.
