What did you like about your
image?
The images where very well made and show overall skill on the shape form
tasks, some of the added detail in the last image makes it look very close to
the original.

What would you improve if you did

it again?
I would add more detail to the first image of the two because it looks very
basic and I would add maybe a texture to it but since it was just a basic shape
task that wouldnt be needed.

Story Overview
The story of St. George is one thats well known by the British
population and its based around St. George Saving a Beautiful
Princess from being sacrificed by the local town to protect them from
the Dragon who threatens the town. It is up to George to confront the
dragon and see if he can slay the beast. He becomes overwhelmed by
the Dragon and falls to a near by orange tree which gives him another
burst of life to attack the dragon. He then continues onto slay the
dragon and save the princess and return to the town and for his
reward he marries the princess and he becomes king.

Production Methods
One ideas I have had for the production of the illustrations is using rotoscoping
and keep adding detail and different colour variations to them, to add depth to
the illustrations. My reason behind doing this method to produce the illustrations
are that I can be able illustrate out my characters and then after add detail to
them and make them look interesting and stand out from the background. For
the text for my book I will have the image seperated from the text so I can add
detail to the image and not have the text be over taken by the image. As far as
backgrounds go I will still do some more detail on them and use rotoscoping and
try not to recycle the same background images more than once or twice and
keep things fresh and keep to continuing to add different ones in. When It comes
to creating text on the opposite page to the image I think I would go with a
gothic type of font to re-enforce the time period its set in and add more to the
Audience
atmosphere of the book giving the look like a monk has chronicled this adventure
The age class that I am looking to sell this story to would be children between
the ages of 4-8. Keeping the age range of these children either between this
range I can include some more advanced words to describe things but keeping
the design of the characters and locations Colorful and bright. I'm hoping to sell
this book to both genders but mainly edge towards the male demographic
because of some key points of the story including a damsel in distress and a
knight fighting a dragon and this could appeal to more young boys that girls. I
also want to try and keep this book open to most classes of British society seen
as it follows the tale of Saint George (a well known British figure known by most
British population and is the patron saint of England.) Mainly because he's such a
well known English character I dont think this story will be enjoyed more by
either
the higher or lower classes.

What are the strengths of the proposal?

What areas of the proposal need further work?

Good knowledge of the file type that is going to be

used. Also shows a good summary of what is going
to happen in the story as well as a clear audience
which links in with and relates to something well
known within Britain. The proposal shows good
knowledge of the different production techniques
thatll be used.

Be more specific on how many pages it is going to

be and also show the dimensions. Maybe add a bit
more detail to the overview.

What are the strengths of the idea generation?

What areas of idea generation could have been

further developed?

Idea generation is not included in the power point

yet but the mind map shows good details of what is
going to be involved in the story and how its going
to be presented. The mind map is organised into
different sub sections which makes the idea more
clear.

Upload idea generation and add some more

information to the mind map about the time setting
and why it would be better to be set in Medieval
times rather than it being more modern.

What are the strengths of the proposal?

What areas of the proposal need further work?

Very clear what the idea is and easy to imagine the

product. The target audience is explained in a lot of
detail and shows that thought has gone into who
would enjoy the book and why. The story overview
is easy to imagine and has an evident beginning
middle end structure.

Production methods could also include how the

background/setting is going to be created. The
dimensions of the product have been missed out.

What are the strengths of the idea generation?

What areas of idea generation could have been

further developed?

The mind map is very thorough and really shows

the thought process that has gone into the story.
This is well explained and states why some ideas
are more suitable than others.

Perhaps expand on the style of the book and why

this style has been chosen.

What are the strengths of the proposal?

What areas of the proposal need further work?

The entire proposal is very clear and well thought

out. It shows a good summary of the story and it is
very detailed. Everything is filled out with detail.
You show a very good upstanding of your target
audience.

The actual dimensions of the product have been

missed. Decided on the specific amount of pages
you want to create this will allow you to focus on
each page to tell a coherent story.

What are the strengths of the idea generation?

What areas of idea generation could have been

further developed?

Your mind map is very detailed, clear and

organised.

Even though your mind map is very well made I

think breaking it up into small sections is better to
read and understand then having big chunks of
text. Could have more then your one idea. So you
could have made a mind map for each of the story
ideas you had. However this a minor thing.

Feedback Summary
Sum up your feedback.
Overall good feedback for my production side and idea generation was
good for the most part and some of the only reasons why it needed
changing was because it was most to do with either missing
information or not clear information.
Which parts of your feedback do you agree with and why?
I agree with that I should expand upon the dimensions of the product
to make it more clear. I also agree upon more detail in my idea
generation and include more information when it comes to my mood
board to show my ideas more clearly when thinking about the story
during the mood board.
Which parts of your feedback do you disagree with and why?
I dont have to disagree with any of the feedback would be things that I
would of chosen out in other peoples performers so I think its all good
feedback.

Original Script
http://projectbritain.com/stgeorge2.html
St. George travelled for many months by land and sea until he came to Libya. Here he
met a poor hermit who told him that everyone in that land was in great distress, for a
dragon had
long ravaged the country.
'Every day,' said the old man, 'he demands the sacrifice of a beautiful maiden and now
all the young girls have been killed. The king's daughter alone remains, and unless we
can find a knight who can slay the dragon she will be sacrificed tomorrow. The king of
Egypt will give his daughter in marriage to the champion who overcomes this terrible
monster.
When St. George heard this story, he was determined to try and save the princess, so
he rested that night in the hermit's hut, and at daybreak set out to the valley where the
dragon lived. When he drew near he saw a little procession of women, headed by a
beautiful girl dressed in pure Arabian silk. The princess Sabra was being led by her
attendants to the place of death. The knight spurred his horse and overtook the ladies.
He comforted them with brave words and persuaded the princess to return to the
palace. Then he entered the valley.
As soon as the dragon saw him it rushed from its cave, roaring with a sound louder than
thunder. Its head was immense and its tail fifty feet long. But St. George was not afraid.
He struck the monster with his spear, hoping he would wound it.
The dragon's scales were so hard that the spear broke into a thousand pieces. and St.
George fell from his horse. Fortunately he rolled under an enchanted orange tree
against which poison could not prevail, so that the venomous dragon was unable to
hurt him. Within a few minutes he had recovered his strength and was able to fight
again.
He smote the beast with his sword, but the dragon poured poison on him and his armor
