Accreditation of CPAs

in Public Practice

Limitation to the Practice of Public
Accountancy
Single practitioners and partnership for the practice of public
accounting shall be registered certified public accountant in
the Philippines, that from the effectivity of the Act a certificate
of accreditation shall be issued to certified public accountants
in public practice only upon showing in accordance with the
rules of regulations promulgated by the Board and approved
by the Commission, that such registrant has acquired a
minimum of three (3) years meaningful experience in the area
of public practice including taxation, Provided further that the
registration shall not apply to those already granted certificate
of accreditation prior to the effectivity of the act. The SEC shall
not register any corporation organized for the practice of
public accountancy;

Individual CPA, Firms and Partnership of CPA
engaged in the practice of Public Accounting
including the partners and staff members thereof,
shall register with the Commission and the Board,
such registration to be renewed every three (3)
years, Provided that subject to the approval of the
Commission, the Board shall promulgate rules
and regulation for the implementation of the
registration requirement including the fees and
penalties for violation thereof

Limitation to the Practice of Public
Accountancy
REGISTERED CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT IN THE
PHILIPPINES
- graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
(effectivity of the law)
- passed the CPA Board Examination
- valid CPA License (PRC-ID)
ACCREDITED
CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS IN
PUBLIC PRACTICE
- 3 years meaningful experience in areas of public practice
including
taxation
- Continuing Professional Development
- Quality Review
- No derogatory remarks / pending cases
- Registration and Payment of Fees

COVERAGE
1. Individual CPAs, including staff
members
2. Firms, including the sole proprietors
and staff members and
3. Partnerships of CPAs including the
partners and staff members

ACCREDITATION VALIDITY
The registration shall be valid for a
period of three (3) years and may be
renewed every three (3) years
