America is child obesity. The
percentage has double in the past
30 years. Which means a child with
obesity can grow up to have
serious illnesses.

Bullying

The Alarming Statistics:

The statistics on bullying are upsetting. In a recent national survey of


overweight sixth graders, 24 percent of the boys and 30 percent of the
girls experienced daily teasing, bullying or rejection because of their
size. The number doubles for overweight high school students with 58
percent of boys and 63 percent of girls experiencing daily teasing,
bullying or rejection because of their size.

Our Environment

Vending Machines in schools

43 percent of elementary schools, 74 percent of middle schools and 98 percent


of high schools have them

Low cost junk food available anywhere

How can we stop it

Parent being a Mentor

Programs that promote healthy lifestyle and educated the risk of


obesity.

Have more programs afterschool dedicated to physical activity

Mentor

Children see Children learn

Parents have to be committed enough to practice and lead their kids


into a healthy lifestyle

Parents positive behavior affects the children they raise

If more parents practice a healthy life, theres more plausible chances


that the kids would like that life too (its okay to have a cheat day)

Reward

Programs

Make a program afterschool or during school promoting healthy


lifestyle.

A program that helps you making the right decision when buying food,
not just junk food

Be able to recognize all the meanings of the nutrients on the back of


the box

Program where it educates the risk factors of obesity

Physical Activity

Aerobic activity should make up most of your child's 60 or more


minutes of physical activity each day.

Include muscle strengthening activities, such as gymnastics or pushups, at least 3 days per week as part of your child's 60 or more
minutes.

Include bone strengthening activities, such sports that involve running.
