PURPOSES OF MARRIAGE

Prophet Muhammad said,


Do not delay in three things;
1)Theoffering of the obligatory prayer.
2)The offering of the funeral prayer when the
deceaseds body ispresent.
3)The marriage of a woman when her couple
is found.

Marriage arranges ones life

To safeguard
onesimaan(faith)

A form of ibadah (worship)


performing as nobly as possible all the rituals requested by
Allah, which include not only the five pillars of Islam :
shahadah, salah (prayer), sawm (fasting), zakah (almsgiving)
and hajj (pilgrimage), but also, in marriage; the promises of
sexual fulfilment and companionship, etc
marriage is seen as the only possible way for the sexes to unite
under God, therefore it is obeying God and His messenger
to receive very high rewards from Allah
A dinar you spent in Allah's path, a dinar you spent in
freeing a slave, a dinar which you gave in charity to a
needy person and a dinar which you spent on your family.
The greatest of them in reward is the one you spent on
your family.

To respond to the basic


biological instincts and
needs

Procreation
the children born of the matrimonial union become legitimate and mutual
rights of inheritance are established.
the seeking of the great blessing of a righteous offspring who makes du'a for
you.

When a person dies, his works come to an end (are cut off) except
from three sources: an ongoing charity which he established,
knowledge from which benefit is taken, a righteous offspring who
makes du'a for him.

Pleasure
men are inclined toward women and women are inclined toward
men.
Allah mentions in Surah al-Imran 3:14 ,
The love of the desires for women, sons, ... has been made attractive
to people.
marriage is the institution which fulfills this desire.

BENEFITS OF MARRIAGE

Benefits of Faith
Marriage serves the purpose of bringing together a husband and wife as
believers in their Lord, who will walk the path of Islam together in
submission to the Creator of the Universe.
Abu Huraira reported : The Messenger of Allah (p.b.uh)
A woman is married for four reasons: her property, her status, her
beauty, and her religion; so choose according to religion.

bringing two families together
protecting the rights of women and
children
producing righteous offspring














The believers say: Our Lord, grant us from among our
wives and offspring joy to our eyes and make us an
example for the righteous.Surah Al-Furqan 25:74

Benefits of Society
strengthening the common good through stable family
relationships
reconciling the relationship between the Muslims

freeing slaves
Sahih Bukhari 97, reported by Burda, prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h.
said:










A man will have a double reward who owns a servant girl and he
mentors her, teaches her beautiful manners, and educates her in
the best way, then he emancipates her and marries her.

Benefits of Love and Companionship


fostering love and companionship between a
husband and wife
promoting their happiness
respecting their complementary nature.
Surah Ar-Rum 30:21



Among His signs is that He created for you mates from

yourselves that you may find tranquility in them, and He


placed between you love and mercy. Verily, in that are signs for
a people who give thought.
