although I was formerly a blasphemer. 15This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. and an insolent man. that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering. a persecutor. of whom I am chief. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem. for this reason I obtained mercy. that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 16However. as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life. 3As for Saul. and made great lamentation over him. 1Now Saul was consenting to his death. . he made havoc of the church. 2And devout men carried Stephen to his burial. entering every house. 14And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant. committing them to prison. and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria. except the apostles. but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. and dragging off men and women.

3But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. In fact. yet I am not justified by this. I do not even judge myself.1Let a man so consider us. until the Lord comes. as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.

That is why He gave His Son to be sacrificed upon the cross. He does not want any to be lost. thereby giving us an opportunity to be saved.
