StructureofUplinkHSDPCCH
The spreading factor of the HS-DPCCH is 256 (10 bits per uplink slot)
The HS-DPCCH can only exist together with an UL DPCCH (Ded. Phys. Control Channel).
The DPDCH (Dedicated Physical Data Channel), the DPCCH and the HS-DPCCH are I/Q
code multiplexed.

HybridARQ
RedundancyVersions

Redundancy Versions determine the rate matching pattern, i.e. the selection of
and relation between information bits and parity bits that are to be transmitted.

A transmission of a data packet and its retransmission(s) can have the same or
different redundancy versions.

By suitable combination of different redundancy versions in the receiver,

likelihood of correct reception of the data packet is maximized.

Parameters are required to signal the selected redundancy version to the UE:
Parameter r: Which bits of the data packet are not transmitted (puncturing, in case of
limited resources on physical channels)? Which bits of the data packet are repeated
(repetition, in case of excess resources on physical channels)?
Parameter s: Determines the relation between parity and information bits
Parameter b (16QAM only): Determines constellation version
