What is NCAE?
NCAE = National Career Assessment
Examination
It is an aptitude test geared toward
providing information through test results
for self-assessment, career awareness and
career guidance of junior high school
students of the K to 12 Basic Education
Program (BEP).

What is NCAE?
Test-taking is mandatory.
Test results are recommendatory.
For K to 12 Program: career guidance for
choosing the tracks in Senior High School

What other features characterize the NCAE? A locally developed test which was standardized and validated using Filipino respondents A paper-and-pencil test which utilizes scannable answer sheets that are processed electronically A multiple-choice type of test Culture fair and sensitive Provides an end-user-friendly report format (COR) .

.Why was NCAE developed? The NCAE was developed to: To foster the highest quality of education in the Philippines by regulating and monitoring the flow of students to post secondary institutions of learning and their potential contribution to national development.

Who are the target examinees of the NCAE? All enrolled Grade 9 students in public and private high schools operating with permit. .

The test results will validate the previously thought career choice by showing the student’s strengths and weaknesses in the aforementioned domains. It also provides an interest inventory that will show the inclinations of the students in a particular occupational field. .school students and their parents in determining the career track they should take? The NCAE intends to provide information that will help high school students make wise career decisions based on the results of the domains of the test.

Can the results of the NCAE be used in ranking schools? No. . The results of the NCAE should NOT be used for other purposes other than career guidance.

Rapport must be established with the examinees because they work better when they are relaxed and properly . Administration of the Test An important factor that affects performance in a test is the psychological climate in the testing room. It is important therefore to be very pleasant during the test.

Check (√) each subpart after a specified activity / instruction has been done/given. . Administration of the Test The activities pertaining to the test have to do with: pre-test. test proper and post-test. Follow the succeeding instructions strictly to ensure fair and standardized test administration.

Seating Arrangement .

In no case shall there be more than 30 examinees in a room. Administration of the Test 1. 2. prepared by the School Principal/Testing Coordinator. . Check the attendance by calling out the names of the examinees from the list.

In the absence of requirements a & b. ask the other test takers to attest the identity . If the school ID is not available. ask the examinee to present a notebook or any belonging bearing his/her name. There are thirty (30) TBs in a pack (15 TB1 and 15 TB2). . Check their quantity and see to it that these are complete. Distributing the Answer Sheets (ASs) and Test Booklets (TBs) Open one end of the plastic bags containing the TBs and ASs. Each examinee will use two (2) TBs and a set of ASs (two sheets).

. Distributing the Answer Sheets (ASs) and Test Booklets (TBs) IMPORTANT: Make sure that each examinee will receive two sheets of AS with the same barcode (Examinee Number).
