PEGUCHE WATERFALL

The Peguche waterfall is


found in the Faccha Llacta
community.

The forest that surrounds
the waterfall has marked
sites where you can camp

Plaza de ponchos
The Plaza de los Ponchos, also
known as the Centenario
Market, is the scene of the
major artisan market in
northern Ecuador .
The Plaza de Ponchos is a

various artisan products.

scarves, gloves, hats, caps,
shirts, pants, tablecloths,
hammocks, tapestry, bags,
canvas shoes, bracelets,

SAN PABLO LAKE
At the San Pablo lake
found at the foot of the
magestic Imbabura
volcano, we are offered
various hikes that take
us to natural lookouts
like El Lechero and Mira
Lake.
In this lake, a
famous open water
swimming event is
held year after year
during the Yamor
festival.
REED HANDICRAFTS

Taking advantage of the


handicraft potential of the
people of this region, several
years ago the enterprise
"Totora SISA Civil and
Commercial Society" was
formed.

You can shop reed handicrafts such as


cushions, lamps, living room articles,
sofas, rugs, bread baskets, hats, trash
receptacles, rafts, paper, etc.
They also make objects for domestic
use among them are weavings that
form a great reed carpet that serves
as a decorative element in the home.
LIBERTY TRAIN OTAVALO - IBARRA - SALINAS

The Ecuador train invites you to take an unforgetable


trip that goes through the province of Imbabura on
rails.
This 85 year old route has been restored to its original
state.
It is an excellent opportunity to see and live the
historic Ecuadorian testament, a retrospective trip for

CONDOR PARK

The Condor park is a recue


center that is located in
Curiloma
The park supports several
activities such as:

the protection and care of
birds, having special emphasis
on illegal purchases of the
species and an introduction of
wild animal habitat and the
environment and habitat of
the species.

EL LECHERO LOOKOUT
This tree is considered millenial
and is located on the site known
as Pucar de Rey Loma.
The landscape consists of clear
agriculture where the prevelant
crop is corn and other Andean
products in the area such as
beans, chocho, and potatoes.
This is a natural lookout where
you can observe the San Pablo
lake, Imbabura volcano, the city
of Otavalo, the Fuya Fuya
mountain and Cotacachi
volcano.
This traditional point of view is
a very important place for
indigenous customs.
ARTISAN WORKSHOPS IN PEGUCHE
The art of creating cloth
garments began in the
year 1582 established in
the Otavalo area.
The products are of
excellent quality because
of foreign tourist
demands and are original
designs.
The workshops you
encounter are open to
the public where they
make in a day an
innumerable amount of
clothing that is sold in
national or international
markets by our able
artists.
TAXOPAMBA WATERFALL

The Taxopamba waterfall


is located 6.4 km from the
city of Otavalo on the way
to the Mojanda lakes.
The waters of this
waterfall are clear and
calm and have a
temperature of 9C.
The waterfall area is
surrounded by natural
vegetation and the path is
maintained by the
inhabitants of the area.
MOJANDA LAKES

The Mojanda lakes area


has three lakes: great lake,
black lake, small lake.
This is located 16 km from
Otavalo.
These lakes are found
surrounded by elevated
mountains like Fuya Fuya
that is a favorable place
for acclimation, because of
this many climbers visit
before ascending higher
mountains.
Arriving at the great lake
you will find small food
stands with typical food
from the region.
HAT WORKSHOP OF ILUMN
The hats are made
and sold from the
homes of the artists,
this makes up the
majority of business
for these families.
The hats are of
excellent quality and
known at a national
and international
level for their finish
and detail.
