(AAS) alert to crew. ANTI-ICING ADVISORY SYSTEM (AAS) Provides detecting airframe ice,
Probe mounted under L/H
wing L/E.
When alert cancel
(disappears) , it is mean the end of ice buildup ,visual check is required to determine, ice adhering to exposed surface. At first detection of ice accumulation, AAS to prompt the crew ensure HORN heat and AIRFRAME P/b are ON.
AAS serves to remind the crew :
- increase minimum operation speed. - Turn off de-icing when ice is no longer.
Detector panel (ICE DET) on the
center instrument panel.
ICING illuminate If probe detect
ice. AAS Probe expose to slipstream oscillated at prescribed frequency equate. As ice accumulate decrease frequency equate .5mm, ICING illuminate.
When ice detect, automatic 7-
second heating cycle. AAS ICING AOA illuminate, indicate either or both HORN P/b are select ON ,advise to crew that stall warning threshold is reduce.
remain, depressed ICING AOA P/b to reset to normal flight condition. AAS Slow ice accumulation, no AAS alert.
Freezing rain consist super
cooled water droplet, if SAT negative, ice build up in the L/E.
PTT for operational test for
minimum 3 sec. Successful testing result ICING illuminate. If system is not god, FAULT illuminate, CCAS level 2, ANTI ICING on CAP. Icing Evidence Probe. Located at adjacent captain side window.
Inner light illuminate if NAV
light are on. ANTI-ICING SYSTEM PROBES HEATING ADC receive information from 12 probe : - 3 pitot (capt, FO, Standby). - 3 pair of static port. - 2 alpha probe. - 1 TAT probe.
- Heating are controlled by
PROBE HTG panel.
- Sensor, monitor current flow
provide failure indication and CCAS level 2, ANTI ICING on CAP. Pitot Probe Is electrically heated. 115 ACW Bus 1 (capt), 115 ACW Bus 2 (FO). 115 ACW Bus 1 (stand by)
Stand by Pitot, if normal power
is lost, 115 VAC Stand by Bus is used. Static Port Static port are heated when respective PITOT P/b is depressed on.
PITOT illuminate if system
fail ,A/C on the ground.
No in flight monitoring of Static
heat failure. Alpha Probes Is heated when CAPT or F/O P/b is depressed ON.
ALPHA illuminate if failure.
Total Air Temperature probe. Is heated in flight when STBY P/b is depressed.
On the ground ,heating and
TAT light power are removed.
TAT illuminate in flight ,failure
heating. WING SHIELD AND FWD SIDE WINDOW ARE WINDOW HEATED. HEATING Controller maintain external window 2, inner surface 21C
Fully protected of overheating sensor failure and
controller failure.
No limitation on the use on the ground.
Wind shield is controlled by WIND-SHIELD HTG
panel.
Side window is controlled SIDE WINDOW.
Depressing single P/b, active both side window. FAULT malfunction result, CCAS level 2
WSHLD HTG PTT P/b
(maintenance panel), check controller function. Failure report on maintenance panel. PROPELLER HEATING Resistance wiring in the inboard L/E blade. Control by controller and PROP 1 or 2 P/b.
Anti-icing operate only if Np >
63% to prevent over heating.
86% Np minimum to required
while icing condition, sufficient centrifugal force.
Opposite blade are heated
sequentially. PROP MODE SEL P/b controls heating durations.
depressed ON, 40 sec / cycle (1 cycle = 80 sec). In very icing condition, A/C performance decrease, propeller vibration. The following is recommended : - PROP MODE SEL accordance to SAT. - Increase propeller RPM to 92% for continuous 4 minutes.
- FAULT in the PROP P/b,
propeller heating malfunction, CCAS level 2, ANTI ICING on CAP. HORNS ANTI- ICING Maintain ice free prevent control surface jamming.
Control by RUD & L ELEV and
AIL & R ELEV.
FAULT illuminate, malfunction
on heating, CCAS level 2, ANTI ICING on CAP. DEICING SYSTEMS ENGINE ICE PROTECTION Inertial Separation.
Inertial ice separation, prevent
contamination entering to first stage compressor. Engine Anti-Icing
- Engine air inlet, Pneumatically
inflated boots.
- Inertial separation boot ,to
prevent ice formation air entering First stage compressor.
- Both boot operate
simultaneously. Engine Air bleed, direct from Engine Bleed Valve (Pressure Regulator S/O valve) compressor. ENG 1 or 2 P/b, control activated of boots.
MODE SEL control timing cycle,
used when SAT -18C. - P/b is release (fast), initiate 60 sec, inflation 5 sec per minute. - P/b ON (depressed) ,4 minute initiated, 5 sec per 4 minute.
- Engine anti ice turn ON first
then airframe de-icing to advantage immediate inflation. FAULT illuminate on ENG 1 or 2 P/b, low pressure on chamber A when P/b is depressed, CCAS level 2, ANTI ICING on CAP. AIR FRAME DE ICING SYSTEM L/E de-icing use on icing only.
Consist rubber boot A & B.
Inflate by air bleed.
Mod 327 and 352 equip with vertical & inboard wing de icing.
Boot are utilized camber A and
B.
Once active, automatically
cycle.
System must be select ON as
soon as ice accumulate. Deice Controllers Air bleed from R/H & L/H is supplied to common de icing duct.
BLEED VALVE position doesnt
effect the de-icing system.
Deice Valve are provide to shut off
anti icing bleed air flow.
2 Shut off Valve down stream
Deice Valve ,only open if sufficient pressure from Deice valve. This design prevent reverse flow in the event engine shut down. DE ICING AIR FRAME AIR BLEED P/b.
- Depress (normal) ,Deice &
Isolation valve ,open. R/H & L/H bleed air to common anti icing.
- AIR FRAME AIR BLEED
(OFF), - ENG 1 or 2 (OFF), Deicing & Isolation Valve (close). - ENG 1 or 2 (ON), Deicing valve (open), Isolation valve (close) No.1 controller controls inflation chamber A.
No.2 controller controls inflation
chamber B.
AIR FRAME P/b controls
operation of both controller.
When not being inflated, boots
held firmly down by vacuum. Deice Controller 2 timer, regulate inflation pneumatic boots (engine & airframe) and propeller heating.
Controller direct control dual
distribution valve.
No.1 controller control L/H engine.
No.2 control R/H engine.
No cross flow of engine deicing.
MEMORY PANEL. DE ICING light illuminate, AIR FRAME de-icing operation.
DE ICING flash, pneumatic still
supply 5 minute. RAIN REMOVAL SYSTEM WHINDSHIELD WIPERS 2 electric wiper.
2 Control by CAPT and F/O
WIPER selector switch.
Position OFF-SLOW-FAST.
FAST 120 cycle / minutes
SLOW 80 cycle / minute.
