Engage in Policy Practice

IDENTIFY SOCIAL POLICY AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND
FEDERAL LEVEL THAT IMPACTS WELL BEING, SERVICE
DELIVERY, AND ACCESS TO SOCIAL SERVICES.  
• All employees and volunteers shall conduct themselves in an appropriate
manner while dealing with the public and clients. 

• Using a professional demeanor when presenting Southeastern Family
Violence Center when initially meeting clients such as an intake or
working with other organizations in the community. 
ASSESS HOW SOCIAL WELFARE AND ECONOMIC
POLICIES IMPACT THE DELIVERY OF AND ACCESS TO
SOCIAL SERVICES 

• Using requisition forms to document where the agency funds are being
spent

• Going over the requisition forms for the grocery trips and other funds
spent at the shelter, keeping track of what funds are spent providing for
the shelter 
APPLY CRITICAL THINKING TO ANALYZE, FORMULATE, AND
ADVOCATE FOR POLICIES THAT ADVANCE HUMAN RIGHTS
AND SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE  

• Apply critical thinking to present clients with most efficient resources to
help reach their short-term and long-term goals 

• Looking into resources in the community that could benefit the clients at
the shelter, such as housing resources, job leads, and even recreational
such as providing applications for the women with young children to the
Exploration Station in Lumberton that was giving year long memberships
to parents and their children that have experienced hardship and they
could gain access to the museum free for a year
