I decided that I
wanted to start over
so I had to create a
new PowerPoint and
update my new
project.
I decided that I wanted
to create a story map on
the devolvement of
education, so I started
off with Rome, Europe,
and Egypt and put down
a little information down
about how education
started.
10/26/16
Then I went in a put
information about each
place about the
education of males and
females.
For example I went in a
put information about
Rome.
10/28/16
This week I kind of went in
a different direction and
finally decided that I would
map out the Underground
Railroad.

I started out finding

information about the
important people that
started the Underground
Railroad then, I started to
highlight the states that
were fee and not free. The
free states are blue and
the not free states are red.
11/1/16
I procced to
find out more
information one
the slave trade
and highlight
the states
between the
free states,
slave states,
and states that
are open to
slavery.
11/3/16
I continued to
highlight the
free states
and the slave
states.
11/11/16
Now I have
completed all of
my highlighting
of the free
states, slave
states, and free
land.
Yellow- Free land
Blue- Free States
Red- Slave
States
National service project
Competition
For my National Service Project, I choose to
create a very detailed map of the
Underground Railroad for elementary and
middle school, to help better further their
education in this subject. I plan on going
more in-depth on the information about the
states that helped, the states that didnt
want to end slavery and the people that
risked their lives to help free thousands of
slaves.
11/13/16
I added more
information
about all the
states the
allowed
slavery and
the states
that didnt
allow
slavery.

Story Map
Yes I did create a public visible map but on my account on ArcGis.

No I do not need a website to store additional information .

My project helps people learn more information about the Underground
Railroad.
Yes, it does use information that can help solve a problem.
I color coated my states to tell the view points that they decided to
chose and I put bubbles on the places when the two important people
that started the Underground Railroad where raised.
This project could benefit elementary school and schools all around the
United States.
The project may not be complete because when I want to get it done I
want to do a test run with a elementary class
I learned how to create a map and put whatever information I needed
to put in the map.
